Print crisp, clear stencils at maximum efficiency with TIM: the new thermal printer by 3K Instruments. TIM features higher and faster exposure speeds that work with any stencil/copier paper on the market.

This state-of-the-art thermal printer is also designed with a sensor-controlled cooling system. That means it cools down faster (roughly within 6 minutes) of every print job, so you can print more stencils and faster without having to wait for a long cooldown.

TIM is also designed with efficiency in mind. It is easy to maintain and keep clean. Its glass roller tube is silicone-coated and easy to wipe down/keep clean with alcohol wipes.

Frequently Asked Questions

What paper works with the TIM Thermal Printer?

All brands of tattoo stencil paper work with this thermal printer to create crisp, precise, and transferable prints up to 210mm x 310mm. New and experienced tattoo artists can produce durable, shading-free tattoo stencils onto a wide range of materials, getting quality without extra gear taking up space. How long does the TIM Thermal Printer take to cool down between prints?

Thanks to the built-in sensor-controlled cooling system, this thermal tattoo printer returns to its original operating temperature in a record six to seven minutes—significantly faster than the typical 10 to 15 minutes. To achieve this, fans start cooling the TIM as it warms, decreasing not just time between prints but also energy use. Overheat protection may force a brief reset after high-volume usage.

How do I clean the TIM Thermal Printer's roller?

Once the printer fully cools:1. Lower the speed dial's setting2. Open the lid3. Press the internal manual feed button4. Clean the entire exposed length of the roller with an alcohol wipe5. Repeat these steps over each section of the roller's circumference6. After cleaning the full surface, wipe down with a paper towel and let the roller air dry before closing or printing* On select models, you might need an Allen key to access the roller from the base.

Can I buy replacement parts for the TIM Thermal Printer?

Yes, artists can purchase 3K Instruments' Replacement Glass Roller Tube and the Replacement Lamp through Ultimate Tattoo Supply; both are compatible with TIM and TIMMY. Quick, straightforward installation restores the features your craft demands—whether that's an easily cleaned glass roller or thermal radiation for fast, accurately reproduced designs.Have a tight schedule planned? Keep a few replacements on hand to make quick repairs and stick to your schedule.

How is the TIM Thermal Printer different from the TIMMY Thermal Printer?

The TIM is a heavy-duty tattoo stencil printer built for daily use in high-volume tattoo shops and equipped with sensor-controlled cooling, while the TIMMY is a smaller, 50% lighter machine better suited for travel. Behind this difference, the TIMMY does not include sensor-controlled cooling, has a manually operated feeding mechanism, and must be actively monitored to prevent overheating. That said, it accommodates smaller-volume shops and occasional, on-the-road gigs.
